Plainview, NY EW Howell Construction Group has promoted several staff members as part of the organization’s continued growth. Matt Sturm has been promoted to director of estimating, and David Casillo has been appointed manager of pre-construction, both reporting directly to Jon DiBiase, executive vice president of operations.
“Matt’s promotion is instrumental in our company’s success,” said Daniel Williams, president/CEO of EW Howell. “Given his leadership abilities, knowledge of estimating, and representation of EW Howell’s core values, this promotion is well-deserved.”
Sturm joined EW Howell in 2016 and has 19 years of construction industry experience. He originally joined EW Howell as an estimator, and through his unyielding efforts with our organization, he was promoted to senior estimator. From there, he was elevated to the role of assistant director of estimating.
His project experience with EW Howell includes, but is not limited to, the Jones Beach Theater renovation, the recently completed Davis Center at the Harlem Meer and Brookhaven National Laboratory Science and User Support Center, and the ongoing air traffic control tower for Francis S. Gabreski Airport.
Sturm will serve as EW Howell’s new director of estimating, where he will oversee the estimating team, with a focus on GC bids, as well as the consistency of best practices and procedures. Additionally, he will identify areas of concern for projects and review final estimating proposals for completeness and accuracy.
EW Howell congratulates Sturm on this achievement as he grows into his new role of director of estimating.
