EW Howell Construction Group earns two safety honors from New York chapters of the Associated General Contractors of America

Plainview, NY EW Howell Construction Group was presented with two safety awards from the national and New York chapters of the Associated General Contractors of America for its outstanding safety record and programs implemented across project sites during the last year.

EW Howell took first place in its category at the 2023 Willis Towers Watson Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA), the firm’s fourth consecutive year in the top three for the Construction Management Division category. EW Howell was also one of just nine general contractors throughout New York State to receive the 2022 AGC NYS Safety Excellence Award, marking its fifth consecutive year as a winner of this honor.

EW Howell puts extended effort year-round to implement a top-notch safety program, which has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best in the nation. We are proud to be acknowledged for our rigorous standards and unwavering safety record by the national and New York chapters of the Associated General Contractors of America,” said Daniel Williams, president of EW Howell.

The Willis Towers Watson AGC CSEA award, one of the most prestigious safety awards in the country, recognized EW Howell for Construction Safety Excellence in the Construction Management Division, 250,000-650,000 work hours, and the award was presented during the 2023 AGC National Convention in Las Vegas, NV.  The AGC CSEA program is the industry’s elite safety excellence awards program. It offers members the opportunity to evaluate their safety record by comparing a member’s safety record with other AGC members according to member size and construction type. Factors considered by the jury include the member’s overall program and safety record, training, and work experience. The program also recognizes companies that have developed and implemented premier safety and loss prevention programs and showcases companies that have achieved continuous improvements and maintenance of their safety and health management systems.

The AGC NYS Safety Excellence Award honors AGC NYS members for having and implementing outstanding safety programs. The AGC NYS Safety Excellence Award winners are judged by a myriad of stringent requirements, such as having excellent safety programs that exceed industry standards and the demonstration of exceptional safety practices in the field. The award was presented recently at the 36th Annual AGC NYS Construction Industry Conference in Saratoga Springs.
