In the very near future they will launch a re-developed and upgraded website that will enable us to do more, present more, and provide more.
More pictures: BOMA's members love to see photographs of their meetings and activities; more information - in today's information age, the chapter has to get the word out on meetings, legislative alerts, and industry challenges in a rapid and effective manner;
More editing options: While this is not something the visitor to the website will notice, it is crucial for their web editing to be easy and understandable for our committee members and directors. If BOMA cannot easily edit their own site, their data quickly becomes outdated - even obsolete.
The web committee is working on a members-only section of the website, which we hope to use for the posting of our membership directory. This has the potential to save us a great deal of money in printing costs, time and energy in the production of this document.
Then there is the Awards Program for Greater Buffalo BOMA. They have a new chairman, John Greene of Uniland Development, and he is hard at work tweaking the process and making improvements in the FACES of BOMA Awards, as well as seeking candidates for The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards.
And BOMA's Trade Show committee is very excited about the prospects of a variety of changes coming to that major event as well. A new venue, a new format, new participants, and upgrading the entire process will make this event fun and effective for those who attend and for those who participate.
Some things, however, are better left alone. Most will agree that their annual Golf Outing is an ongoing success, so they will not mess with the format, the activities, or even the location. It will, again, take place on Monday, August 25, at Arrowhead Golf Club. Invitations have already gone out, and foursomes are filling in quickly. You do still have an opportunity to sign up, and to help defray expenses of this event with your sponsorship contributions. Or, if you prefer, you can help out with a contribution to the ever-popular Chinese Auction. To register, call the BOMA office at (716) 856-3801, or e-mail them at [email protected].
