EmPower Solar honored by SunPower Corp. at conference

EmPower Solar, a leading Long Island-based solar energy contractor, has received the 2010 Commercial Rising Star Award by SunPower Corp., a manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and solar systems. EmPower was selected by SunPower's award committee because of its emergence as a leading installer of commercial solar energy systems on Long Island. SunPower also recognized EmPower for its commitment to the highest quality service, engineering and installation and for its service to Long Island's residential market as an exceptional Elite Dealer. Last year, EmPower became the third dealer in the state and one of 25 across the U.S. to earn the SunPower Elite status. "The Commercial Rising Star Award is coveted by dealers because it recognizes the highest quality solar installation companies in the country," said David Schieren, CEO of EmPower Solar. "This award is also representative of the high level of skill and expertise that EmPower Solar employees have, along with our collective dedication in promoting a viable and growing renewable energy technology." The award was presented to EmPower at SunPower's annual dealer conference, recently held in Chandler, Ariz. EmPower Solar is a leading solar contractor serving Long Island's residential and commercial markets. Since 2003, EmPower has installed over 200 residential, commercial and non-profit solar power systems in the Tri-State Area.
