Empire Commercial Construction to begin construction of Apple Cinemas first NY location

Pittsford, NY Empire Commercial Construction, a retail-focused division of regional general contractor TAYLOR The Builders, was given the construction contract for Apple Cinemas within Pittsford Plaza located at 3349 Monroe Ave. In partnership with Apple Cinemas and plaza owner Wilmorite Properties, Empire will be transforming the 27,000 s/f former Pittsford Cinema 9 space into the Massachusetts-based luxury movie theater chain’s 13th location, and the first in New York State. The overhauled theater is expected to be open late-spring/early-summer.

“Empire is proud to establish a relationship with the owners of Apple Cinemas,” said Empire president, Jayne Penepent. “The revamped theatre will not only return a much-needed movie theater option to the Pittsford and Rochester Communities, but an overall improved luxury experience with a dine-in setting.”

The cinema will feature eight screens, deluxe seating, 4K projection, and Dolby ATMOS sound. As part of a full-service experience, a full kitchen will be added along with alcoholic beverages, for a dine-in setting to view new releases, blockbuster movies, and foreign films in your premium recliner. Apple Cinemas also opened new theaters in the Hartford, Connecticut market, New Hampshire and Maine.
