Empire National Bank supports Wall of Wars Memorial on Veterans Day at the Northport VA Medical Center

Empire National Bank is a proud supporter of the Wall of Wars Memorial. Located at the Northport VA Medical Center (VAMC), it is a tribute to soldiers who served from the American Revolution to the War on Terror. This year's Veterans Day observance included an introduction of the memorial. Speakers at the event included Philip Moschitta, Northport VAMC director; Douglas Manditch, Empire National Bank's chairman and CEO, and Richard Kitson, Vietnam Veterans of America, Suffolk County Chapter 11 president and congressman Tim Bishop. They all spoke about the significance and importance of establishing this tribute. It will include twelve granite panels; each one etched with the specific war's name and a scene symbolic of that era. Completion date for the project is Memorial Day 2014. Moschitta said that Wall of Wars Memorial provides a permanent reminder of the sacrifices of veterans who have gone before us in history and those who currently serve to project our freedom. Kitson said the location of the memorial at the Northport VAMC ideal, since many people will have an opportunity to visit the memorial.
