Durr of Durr Mechanical receives MCAA's distinguished service awards

Durr Mechanical Construction, Inc.'s chairman/treasurer, Robert Durr, Sr., received the Mechanical Contractors Association of America's (MCAA) Distinguished Service Award. The award, the association's highest honor, was presented on March 18th, during the opening general session of the association's annual convention in San Antonio, TX. MCAA president Mac Lynch presented the award, providing an overview of Durr's career before reading from the award certificate, "The Distinguished Service Award was created by MCAA as its highest honor, recognizing the "best of the best" within our industry. It is a particular honor to present this year's DSA to Robert Durr, Sr., because if there's one thing all within MCAA agree on, it's that Bob Durr is truly the Best of the Best!" The MCAA Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual for his or her contributions to the progress, development, and expansion of our industry, as well as for outstanding achievement and distinguished service to the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. For almost six decades the mechanical industry and the public have benefitted from Mr. Durr's many achievements. His imprint on the skyline and infrastructure of the Greater New York area is striking, resulting from his direct involvement in scores of institutional and commercial high-rise buildings, nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, waste and process treatment plants and liquid natural gas, cryogenic and methane gas recovery plants. His contributions to MCAA over the last three decades have been equally far-reaching. He has chaired MCAA's Safety Committee, the National Joint Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship Committee and the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau. He has served with distinction on MCAA's Board of Directors, the Plumbers and Pipefitters National Pension Fund and the Industrial Relations Council. And as MCAA president in 1996 he successfully ushered MCAA through a critical period of transition. The Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Inc. (MCAA) serves the unique needs of approximately 2,500 firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping, and mechanical service. We do this by providing our members with high-quality educational materials and programs to help them attain the highest level of managerial and technical expertise. MCAA includes the Mechanical Service Contractors of America, the Plumbing Contractors of America, the Manufacturer/Supplier Council, the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation and the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
