Design teams for Canstruction Long Island are ready to build
The top architectural designers and engineers on Long Island have submitted their final Canstruction drawings to the committee and are ready to begin their test build-out at their locations.
The teams are excited about their structures and working together and cannot wait to show them off at RexCorp Plaza. Teams will be videotaping their build-out and many are hoping to post it on YouTube.com.
We have more teams than last year and anticipate that our canned food donation could reach 50,000!
Canstruction Long Island is sponsored by the Long Island Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) under the auspices of the Society for Design Administration.
Competing teams of design and construction professionals, led by architects and engineers, will build giant self supporting structures made from cans of food on October 30.
These Canstructions will be showcased from October 31 through November 13 at RexCorp Plaza. All Canstructions will then be dismantled and the cans of food donated to the Long Island Cares, Inc. The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
