de Bourbon to join Rubenstein Communications as vice president

The director of communications for New York City's Landmarks Preservation Commission, Elisabeth de Bourbon, will be joining Rubenstein Communications as a vice president in late January. de Bourbon, who has served the last seven years as communications director for the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, will work in Rubenstein's city practice, focusing primarily on public policy issues and real estate development. "Urban planning, real estate development and landmark issues have never been more connected - or complicated - than they are today in New York City," said Howard and Steven Rubenstein, co-presidents of Rubenstein. "We are extremely pleased to have Lisi join our firm, bringing terrific experience working with city government and the media that covers it. She will be a strong fit for our firm and an asset to our clients." de Bourbon began working with the Bloomberg administration in 2002, first with the Department of Transportation, then with the Administration for Children's Services before taking the top communications post at Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2006. At Landmarks, she managed all the agency's media efforts and launched the Commission's first forays into social media. She also served as Communications Director for the NYC Charter Revision Commission. Prior to joining the public sector, de Bourbon spent more than four years as a writer and editor for the Associated Press and Dow Jones News Service. de Bourbon has a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy from Hamilton College and a Master's degree in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
