Crystal Window's Chang named a Queens "Rising Star" by the Queens Courier at a gala reception on February 27th

The New York City business community continues to recognize the achievements and promise of Crystal Window & Door Systems' top management. Joseph Chang, the company's production manager, was one of several individuals to receive the Queens "Rising Star" Award at a gala reception on February 27th at Terrace on the Park. The evening's guest of honor and emcee for the "Rising Star" Award presentations was Hollywood, Broadway and TV actor Stephen Lang, who also received an award on behalf of his father, philanthropist Eugene Lang. The "Rising Star" Award recognizes outstanding young leaders from the business, non-profit and government sectors under 40 years of age whose efforts are having a positive impact on the economy and quality of life in New York City's second most populous borough "I am honored to receive this prestigious recognition," said Chang. "My work with one of the largest, fastest growing and most advanced manufacturers in the New York area has given me the opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience at a rapid pace and immediately put them to use. I also wish to thank my department employees and my fellow co-workers at Crystal Windows, since this honor would not have been possible without their support and dedication." As production manager for national manufacturer Crystal Window & Door Systems, Chang is responsible for materials purchasing, inventory management, production and shipping functions at Crystal's New York headquarters and factory. Under his leadership, 18 supervisors and 250 production employees manufacture over 400,000 windows and patio doors annually and ship to over 35 states nationally. To meet the company's growing production needs, he has re-engineered processes to shorten production times, reduce completed product warehousing needs and accommodate additional equipment. Chang was instrumental in specifying and acquiring several significant new equipment investments and ensuring proper training for all staff members. The "Rising Star" Award program is championed by the Queens Courier and Queens Business publications, major weekly news periodicals that serve the 2.2 million residents and tens of thousands of businesses in the New York City borough.
