Crystal Window & Door Systems supplies fenestration

Crystal Window & Door Systems recently supplied over 2,200 heavy-commercial aluminum windows and heavy-commercial swing terrace doors for a new residential luxury rental complex. Located in the bustling downtown area, the project at 235 and 277 Gold St. features two new buildings that share amenities such as 24-hour concierge, a large fitness center, underground parking, and spacious roof decks. This is one of the first Brooklyn projects for Manhattan firm Lalezarian Developers, Inc., designed by Avinask K. Malhotra Architects of New York and built by Leviathan Construction Management of Tarrytown. "We were pleased that Crystal was selected to provide the fenestration for this exciting complex," said Steve Chen, executive vice president of Crystal Window & Door Systems. "Our engineers worked closely with the architect to create the contemporary look desired." Each apartment of the Gold Street project has floor-to-ceiling window openings and open floor plans to maximize natural light and views, and corner units also have wraparound window systems. As a national manufacturer with primary operations in New York City, Crystal easily expedited production and delivery to meet the project schedule. Crystal supplied 1,200 Series 6100 architecturally-rated aluminum fixed windows and nearly 1,000 Series 6200 heavy-commercial sliding windows for the Gold Street project. Crystal also supplied over 60 of its elegant Series 1400 heavy-commercial aluminum swing terrace doors, as well as louver panels, to complete the project. The Series 6100 fixed windows have an outstanding AAMA rating of F-AW70; the Series 6200 sliding windows are highly rated at HS-AW45/HC60 and the glass terrace doors have a HGC-HC50 rating. The Series 6200 sliding and the Series 6100 picture aluminum windows feature heavy-duty thermally-broken 4-¼" frames and 1" insulating glass units with special glazing for superior energy efficiency. Dual stainless steel roller bearings, stainless steel reinforced track, continuous meeting pull rail and anti-drift clip lock rails ensure durable, smooth and easy operation of the Series 6200 sliding windows. The Gold Street project fenestration units were finished in a gray silver color that meets AAMA 2604 specifications for durability. Crystal supplied corner mullions, receptors, subsills, snap trim and other accessories, facilitating installation.
