Cross County Center kicks off 2024 holiday season on Nov. 15

Yonkers, NY The 2024 holiday season is fast approaching and Cross County Center, a destination for holiday shopping and entertainment for the last 70 years, is checking its list – twice! Family-friendly events, extended shopping hours, a new holiday pop up market and other festivities will launch November 15th, right in time for the holidays!

Cross County Center is encouraging shoppers to experience the holidays in person and early this season at its popular outdoor shopping center. While Black Friday is the traditional start to the holiday season, incredible sales and deep discounts are being offered now in stores to encourage early holiday shopping.

With its outdoor setting, free up-close parking and family-friendly amenities, Cross County Center is a one-stop for holiday shopping, dining, and entertainment. Cross County Center offers a lineup of holiday events for everyone including:

Holiday Tree Lighting: Friday, November 15, 6-8pm
Cross County Center will offer a real NYC Christmas experience right in Yonkers with the lighting of the largest holiday tree in Westchester! Standing over 40 ft. tall, the tree is composed of over 20,000 LED lights (about two miles of strands!) that shoppers can walk-through! The tree lighting will take place on Friday, November 15 and includes festive live musical and dance performances, the pop-up ice skating rink with special characters, strolling entertainers and a free electronic train ride.

Santa Photos: November 14 - December 24
Capture a magical photo of your family inside Santa’s home away from home. The Santa House will be located right next to the holiday tree, near Gap, and will feature a warm and cozy holiday backdrop perfect for holiday photos. Special sessions will be available for pet photos and sensory photo sessions. Reservations are recommended and can be made through the center’s website, www.crosscountycenter.com.

Holiday Food Truck Market and Igloo Seating: November 15 - January 5
Shoppers will enjoy tasty treats and savory snacks from Westchester’s best food trucks! Trucks will be parked on The Green, in the center of the mall, and will be open for lunch and dinner. New Food Truck lineup includes: Ray’s Empanadas, Tipsy Taco Truck, YumBro and Brothers Fish and Chips. For those that want to eat in style, or simply chill out in a cool seating area, pop up igloos will be available throughout the center. Igloos feature cozy furniture and festive decorations and are open daily, available on a first come first served basis.

Pop-Up Holiday Ice Skating Rink: November 14 - January 5
Cross County Center’s popular pop-up ice skating rink is located right in the heart of the center. The pop-up rink is not made of real ice, it is a synthetic floor which glides slower than real ice, making it perfect for first-time and young skaters. Admission is $12 per person (ages 5 and up) and includes skate rentals and a one-hour session. Character and theme skating nights will be hosted throughout the season. Private rentals are also available for a festive family party or friendly get-together.

New 914PopUp Holiday Vendor Market, Weekends Only *Sat/Sun December 7-22, 11-7pm
The 914 Pop Up Holiday Market will feature new small businesses each week vending unique handcrafts and gift items from local vendors including jewelry, home design, handbags, and clothing. The market will be open the first three weekends in December on Saturday/Sundays from 11-7pm and located on the west side of the mall by Macy’s.

Menorah Lighting: December 26 at 6pm
Join Cross County Center for a special Chanukah Menorah Lighting with Chabad of Yonkers. Rabbi Mendy Hurwitz will light the menorah in celebration of the festival of lights, and guests will enjoy live music, cultural dancing, and delicious treats. The event will take place near Macy’s.

Store hours will be extended during the shopping season, beginning on Friday, November 29 when the center will open from 7am to 10pm. Extended shopping hours leading up to the holidays will be listed on the center’s website.

Cross County Center features more than 80 specialty stores and restaurants including Target, Macy’s, Zara, H&M, Pandora, Starbucks, Shake Shack, Hyatt Place Hotel and more. Children’s play areas, free parking and seasonal events draw more than 14 million visitors and guests to the outdoor center, year-round. Cross County Center is located at the junction of I-87 and the Cross-County Pkwy.
