Manhattan, NY COOKFOX Architects completed Ruby, a 25-story mixed-use building at 243 West 28th St. The midblock building was developed by MAG Partners, a woman-owned, WBE-certified, urban real estate company. It is the firm’s first completed NYC project.

Because Ruby is adjacent to Penn South, originally ILGWU housing, and just south of the Garment District, the MAG team named the building after Harlem fashion designer, Ruby Bailey.

In addition to the architecture, interiors are also by COOKFOX.

Inspired by its prewar neighbors, Ruby’s profile features the setbacks of garment industry lofts to create a series of outdoor terraces that connect residents to rooftop gardens and views of Midtown South, Hudson Yards, and the Hudson River per Zone Green provisions.
