Consolo, Aquino and Maglio of Pru. Douglas Elliman lease 3,500 s/f
The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president, along with Arthur Maglio, of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Leasing and Sales Division, exclusively represented the landlord in the long-term lease for a new branch of Wachovia Bank at 2283 Third Ave. This 3,500 s/f location is situated at the northeast corner of 124th St.
Consolo and Aquino have long heralded Harlem's retail resurgence and established a strong presence in the neighborhood, including a satellite office. Through a myriad of exclusive agencies, the duo has represented many area landlords and placed many prominent retailers within the growing community.
"It's logical for Wachovia, one of the country's leading banks, to select The Bridges NYC for the site of its first East Harlem branch, as the building's high-caliber design is ideal for the bank's needs," said Consolo. "Banks are fueling the retail renaissance currently underway in East Harlem."
"Wachovia will be joining a host of neighboring banks, including Chase, Carver, Bank of America, Citibank, and WaMu," said Aquino. "This dynamic neighborhood is a sought after locale for financial institutions, thanks to the immense foot traffic, among other elements."

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
