Consolo and Aquino of Pru. Douglas Elliman host recent brokers-only event
The retail leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Leasing and Sales Division, held a "brokers-only" bash at their new exclusive agency in Grand Central Plaza at 622 Third Ave., a fully-built restaurant space, located in a free-standing building on the corner of Third Ave. and 40th St. The party was to showcase this exclusive and several other spaces that are part of a real estate portfolio owned by Cohen Brothers Realty Corp.
The restaurant space, originally designed by architect Jeffrey Beers for over $6 million, features 6,000 s/f at ground level; 3,000 s/f at the second level; and 13,000 s/f of selling basement along with a fully-equipped catering kitchen. Other unique attributes include private dining rooms, two bars, a 45-ft. ceiling, wine tower and private elevator.
"I was delighted at the turnout for the event," said Consolo. "Of course, many were interested in seeing this remarkable space firsthand, as well as view the other spaces in the portfolio, but it was also a real affirmation of how active retail continues to be in the city."
Formerly the site of Wild Salmon, the restaurant space has 150 linear ft. of corner- and double height frontage stretching along Third Ave. and East 40th St.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
