The CPEX New York retail leasing team has completed a lease agreement with Friends of a Farmer at 76 Montague St. Located between Montague Terrace and Hicks St. in the neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, the property is a two-story landmarked building totaling 3,820 s/f of commercial space. The building is known for the ship anchor on the sidewalk, a relic of the shipping business that used to be run out of that location. The incoming tenant, Friend of a Farmer, will occupy both floors as the new anchor tenant at 76 Montague St. Friend of a Farmer is a popular restaurant and bakery expanding from its Gramercy Park location. This will be their first location in Brooklyn. CPEX's retail leasing team, consisting of managing director Ryan Condren and associate directors Kristina Triglia and George Danut, represented the landlord in the lease transaction. Friend of a Farmer was represented by Prudential Douglass Elliman. "We were happy to be able to bring Friend of a Farmer their first Brooklyn location," said Condren. "They recognized the great potential of this location, and will benefit immensely from its proximity to the Brooklyn Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Mixed in among Montague St.'s already attractive variety of retail options, Friend of a Farmer will add to the strength of Brooklyn Heights as a retail and residential destination."
