Brooklyn, NY The borough is adding another Michelin star operator to its restaurant repertoire. Yiming Wang and Xian Zhang, operators of the Michelin-starred Café China in Midtown Manhattan, are opening another location at 191 Grand St. in Williamsburg. In addition to running the Michelin star restaurant for the past four years, they also run China Blue in TriBeCa.
Located between Bedford Ave. and Driggs Ave., the 2,500 s/f space with a full basement will be their first borough location. Unnamed as of yet, the restaurant plans to open by the end of this fall.
“We are very excited about establishing our third concept in Williamsburg,” said Wang. “Our modern, authentic Chinese menu is meant for a sophisticated and fun-loving crowd.”
“Williamsburg continues to be one of the most sought-after markets by retailers and hospitality groups,” said Keat Chew, associate on the CPEX Brooklyn retail leasing team. “We are thrilled to play a part in Yiming and Xian’s expansion plans, and believe their Brooklyn sister restaurant will be a great addition to Grand St. and its many well-established eateries.”
CPEX’s Brooklyn retail leasing team, consisting of managing director Ryan Condren, associate director George Danut and associate Keat Chew, represented the landlord in the incoming tenant. The asking rent was $100 per s/f.
