With a combined 45 years of experience, Cohen and Perfetto practice exclusively in all areas of real estate law, including land use, zoning, banking law, work outs and government incentives. They are both distinguished in the industry for handling large-scale acquisition and commercial development deals, many of which involve complex legal issues such as the sale of air rights, 1031 exchanges and zoning issues.

About Marshall J. Cohen
Cohen began his legal career in the real estate department of Fried Frank, where he represented large foreign institutions. He was later a managing partner at a prestigious land use and real estate firm. He received his PhD in American history from Harvard and his J.D. from Columbia Law School and has taught at Harvard, M.I.T and Columbia Law School. Cohen serves as chairman of the board of the Amputee Coalition of America and the on the board of the Aston Magna Music Foundation in Great Barrington, Mass.
About Louis A. Perfetto
Perfetto is a former major league baseball prospect. He joined the same prior law firm where Cohen worked and, within five years of joining the firm, became partner. Prior to founding Cohen & Perfetto, Perfetto led the legal team that for the first time acquired and rezoned a piece of Staten Island industrial waterfront property for residential use. He graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and received his L.L.M from New York University. He has previously served on the advisory committees for several financial institutions. Tags:
