Huntington, NY During the annual meeting, the Commercial and Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS) shone a spotlight on the industry’s best and brightest in their annual awards ceremony. Among this year’s honorees was Melissa Naeder, a senior director at Cushman & Wakefield and a member of the CIBS executive board. Naeder was presented with the 2023 Presidents Award in acknowledgment of her contributions to fortifying CIBS and advancing the commercial real estate sector on Long Island.

“Melissa is a true advocate for our industry, and her contributions to our organization have been substantial,” said CIBS co-president Ted Stratigos, principal and managing director at Avsion Young. “Through her leadership and role as the chair of the CIBS W committee, our organization has expanded its leadership role within the industry and the region.”

In addition to recognizing individual excellence, CIBS bestowed the Associate Sponsor of the Year award upon G2D Group. Established in the early 2000s as a full-service development and property management company, G2D Group is renowned for delivering projects characterized by intrinsic quality and innovative aesthetics. Their portfolio spans mixed-use, medical, retail, and residential properties across Long Island, from Hicksville to Riverhead.

“CIBS is proud to continue our tradition of celebrating excellence and innovation within the Long Island commercial real estate community,” said co-president David Pennetta, Cushman & Wakefield’s executive managing director. “These awards not only recognize outstanding achievements but also inspire the industry’s future leaders.”

This year’s Rising Star Award was presented to two brokers: Stephen Cadorette of Cushman & Wakefield and Steve Sessa of Colliers. This accolade is reserved for young professionals who demonstrate exceptional talent and a commitment to the best practices of the commercial real estate industry.

The organization’s membership also took a moment to remember and honor members who have passed away this year. They include: Dom D’Angelo, Michelle Zere, Doug Furer, Jillian Ramirez, and Jarrett Pagano.
