Checkers Restaurant ground leases for Central Islip and Brentwood Rd.

Brentwood, NY Roger Delisle of Island Associates Real Estate Inc. negotiated the long-term ground leases of pad sites for Checkers Restaurants at 7 Wheeler Rd., Central Islip and 1825 Brentwood Rd. Brentwood is about an acre and Central Islip is about half an acre. The buildings including the canopies are approximately 1650 s/f. The tenant is spending the next several months updating restaurant equipment, the building, the sites and preparing them to re-open as Checkers Drive-Thru Restaurants. Both sites have been closed since March 2022. The new tenants are investing significant capital into refurbishing both sites and plan to have a grand opening within the next few months.

The tenants are operators of several restaurant concepts including Checkers Restaurant sites in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk, and bring their vast experience as Checkers operators to Brentwood and Central Islip. In Brentwood, they are joining Popeyes Chicken, Gala Supermarkets, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Suffolk Health Center and various other local tenants.  In Central Islip they are joining Advance Auto, Islip Food Warehouse Supermarket, Popcorn Beauty Supply, Rent-A-Center and various other businesses.
