T. Weiss Realty Corp., one of Long Island's largest family-run real estate development companies, has promoted Lauren Candela (née Flanagan) to vice president of marketing and public relations.
Candela, who joined the company four years ago as a marketing representative, had been director of marketing and public relations since 2013. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing strategy, managing and coordinating all marketing programs; evaluating and implementing marketing strategies that drive and support key initiatives to promote the company; developing and tracking key metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities; forecasting, budgeting and performance management; participating in the development of short and long-range goals and objectives that align with the strategic growth plans of T. Weiss and developing and supporting new business initiatives.
Candela also coordinates the marketing efforts of T. Weiss, a commercial real estate developer, owner and manager and its affiliates, Conference and Meeting Centers of Long Island and TOTUS Business Centers. She also oversees each of the company's websites, provides assistance in leasing activities, and coordinates the firm's civic and charitable efforts.

A recently married native of Boulder, Colo., Candela now resides in Rockville Centre with her husband, Matt.

Candela holds a Masters of Business Administration degree in marketing from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree summa cum laude with a concentration in marketing from Adelphi University.

Candela is a member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society, the Long Island Real Estate Group and its LIREG W subgroup and the Melville Chamber of Commerce. She is a volunteer wish grantor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the metropolitan New York area, volunteers at the Safe Center Long Island, and is active with the American Heart Association.

An avid cyclist she plans to undertake the Five Boro Bike Tour and The Power of a Woman Triathlon, both in May.
