B'Nai B'rith Real Estate luncheon - April 10

Latest developments on Opportunity Zones (OZ), the much anticipated and publicized Federal tax incentive development program for economically distressed areas, will be discussed by a panel of advisors and fund executives, Wednesday, April 10, at the monthly B’nai B’rith Real Estate lunch at The Cornell Club, 6 East 44th St.

To date, nearly 100 OZ funds have launched nationally, seeking to raise about $20 billion, it was reported recently. Of the designated OZ sites, 306 are in New York City, including 125 in Brooklyn. Prospective participants are still awaiting additional government guidelines to clarify what investments qualify and how investors can operate and benefit.

Moderated by Marla Miller, managing director and firm leader on OZs at BDO USA, LLP, the panel will feature Ian Ross, principal of New York-based Somera Road which is raising a $500 million fund, Mohi Monem partner, Arcis Capital Partners, headquartered in New York and investing in student housing around the country, and Pierre Debbas, managing partner, Romer Debbas law firm, who is working with OZ clients and has published on the subject.

The event begins at noon with a reception, followed by lunch at 12:30 and the program set to run from 1-2 p.m. Admission is $70 up to two days in advance and $80 at the door. Registration can be made online at www.bbre-ny.org  or by sending a check payable to B’nai B’rith Real Estate Unit to Aracelis Kuilan, BDO, 622 Third Avenue, Suite 3100,
