TECH+ Expo and Forum - May 22

TECH+ Expo and Forum will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Metropolitan West, 629 West 46th St., New York, NY

The Architect’s Newspaper presents the second annual TECH+, the first expo of its kind to explore the quantum leap of technology hitting the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industries. Taking place during NYCxDesign month, New York’s official citywide celebration of design, TECH+ builds on the synergy of the design world’s convergence on New York City.

As AEC professionals strive to build more sustainable and intelligent buildings while streamlining the design and construction process, the pursuit of technology to keep up with their demands is constantly evolving. TECH+ presents the vanguard of products and software, from virtual reality-aided design to rapid prototyping/fabrication, smart building systems, and IoT. Exhibitors will demo these products at their booths and on our Lightning Stage on the main floor. The Startup Showcase featured early stage concepts from leading design schools.

Microsol Resources’ TechPerspectives Stage spotlights industry leaders who not only use these new technologies but also develop methodologies to re-shape the fabrication of the built environment. Kicking off the day is Keynote Dennis Shelden, new director of Georgia Tech’s Digital Building Laboratory to speak on the connections between industry and academia and the necessity of interoperability to propel the industry forward. Iffat Mai of Perkins and Will,, Chris Mackey, creator of Ladybug Energy Modelling Tool, Christopher Meyer of Suffolk Construction, and Paul Kassabian of SGH are among the speakers.
