New York, NY Building Trades Employers Association (BTEA) New York elected a group of four new officers for 2022-2023, electing its first two women officers in its 119-year-old history.

Those elected were:

  • Pat Di Filippo, executive vice president of Turner Construction Co, as co-chair
  • Peter Vrankovic, president of KSW Mechanical LLC, as co-chair
  • Kristine DeNapoli, president of KND Electric Contracting Corp., as treasurer
  • Maureen Henegan, president of Henegan Construction, as secretary

DeNapoli and Henegan are BTEA New York’s first women officers. The officers play an integral role in shaping the future of New York’s construction industry, providing expert guidance as BTEA New York advocates for 26 New York trade associations and over 1,200 individual general and specialty trade subcontractor firms.

“BTEA is honored to elect four highly qualified and experienced Officers to help us build a greater future for New York and continue our mission to increase workforce diversity and inclusion,” said Louis J. Coletti, BTEA New York president and CEO. “We’re especially proud to nominate our first two women officers, who are not only industry pioneers but also extremely capable.”

“BTEA New York has a longstanding history of driving New York’s economy forward and advocating for union contractors, said Di Filippo. “I am excited to work next alongside the new officers to help the industry emerge from the pandemic.”

“I’m grateful to help lead BTEA New York to further promote and advance the unionized construction industry,” said Vrankovic. “This is a special moment in history as we blaze a new path forward with BTEA’s diverse leadership team to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.”

“BTEA is steadfastly committed to advancing women in construction, and I am delighted to help uplift and empower fellow women in the industry,” said DeNapoli.

“I’m honored to join a trailblazing cohort of BTEA New York Officers and to help further diversify the construction industry and economically empower and level the playing field for women,” said Henegan.
