The Arboretum features 292 units, a mix of 82 two-bedroom flats, 82 lofts, 63 two-bedroom townhomes, 14 three-bedroom townhomes, 51 three-bedroom single-family houses, with 30 units within the complex reserved for workforce housing. Monthly rents vary, starting at $3,515 for two-bedroom apartments, $4,300 for three-bedroom townhomes, and $5,350 for three-bedroom single-family houses.

“We’re thrilled to mark this momentous occasion as we introduce 292 residences, providing much-needed rental housing, right in the heart of Farmingville,” said Meredith Marshall, co-founder and managing partner of BRP Companies. “Located in a 62-acre park-like setting, The Arboretum harmoniously blends premier amenities with a mix of housing options, and we welcome our residents to their new homes.”

“The Brookhaven IDA is proud to have played a role in the Arboretum at Farmingville project,” said Frederick Braun III, Brookhaven IDA chairman. “The mix of housing options, proximity to the LIE and a brand-new public park makes this a beautiful addition to the Farmingville community.”

“We are thrilled that Farmingville’s first firehouse, the Hanrahan Firehouse is being restored and is part of Arboretum Park,” said The Farmingville Historical Society. “We look forward to providing opportunities for the residents of the Arboretum and of greater Farmingville. It is a pleasure working with a developer who is both community minded and will go out of their way to preserve local history.”

“The opening of Phase I of The Arboretum at Farmingville is yet another manifestation of Basis’s proven ability to partner with top sponsorship and development teams of color such as BRP Companies, making a direct impact on the communities in which these teams invest,” said CEO and co-founder of Basis Investment Group Tammy Jones. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with BRP Companies to bring much-needed quality workforce housing to the region.”

“The Arboretum is a pivotal response to three essential needs in Farmingville,” said Michael Wentz, president Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce, Inc. “It addresses the high demand for housing in one of New York’s top school districts, promotes local sustainability with adequate on-site infrastructure, and establishes a community center that will serve as the Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce headquarters, hosting a range of community events year-round.”

Interior residence amenities include in-unit washers and dryers, and energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances. In addition to the residential component, a total of 7,500 s/f shared amenity spaces are offered to residents, inclusive of a fitness center with on-demand fitness and yoga rooms, a resort pool and cabana area, a resident clubhouse with an entertainment kitchen, tennis/pickleball and bocce courts, a putting green, a playground, dog run and pet wash stations, and a business center with conference rooms. The property additionally encompasses the creation of a seven-acre park, offering nature paths, walking trails and picnic areas that are open to the public.

Greystar is leading the project’s residential leasing efforts at the property.

The Arboretum is located in a 62-acre park-like setting and is located just a few miles from major Long Island medical facilities inclusive of Stony Brook University and Hospital and the Brookhaven National Laboratory and is highly accessible to The Long Island Expressway and Nicolls Road.

Project construction began in July of 2022.
