Breinlinger of Fidelity National Title Insurance discusses how she got her start

How did you get your start in real estate? My career in real estate began in the late '70s when I went to work for my father as a real estate sales person in Monticello, New York. At the time I was a district sales manager of a large cosmetics company. My father who always had a sixth sense about people told me that I was very good at sales and that I should really be working with him. It took a little prodding but once he finally convinced me to give it a try I found the business to be exciting and very rewarding and I have not looked back since. I credit my father with being my mentor and giving me the early training that helped shape my career to this day. I made the switch to title insurance 20 years ago and today I service attorneys, bankers, and builders throughout Long Island and the five boroughs in the areas of residential and commercial real estate transactions. It's been a great career, and whenever I look back I am always thankful to my Dad for his encouragement. Suzanne Breinlinger is the vice president of Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Garden City, N.Y.
