According to Thornton Tomasetti, John Boyer, Sr., P.E. has joined the firm's New York office as vice president. Boyer, who has more than 25 years of MEP design and forensics experience, will support Thornton Tomasetti's Building Performance and Property Loss Consulting practices in the East U.S. region as well as nationally.
Boyer has considerable experience with HVAC, plumbing and fire suppression/protection systems.
Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti, Boyer was a vice president and director of design at The Boyer Partnership, Inc. in Altoona, Pa.
Projects ranged from small renovations to large-scale ($65 million) facilities.
A licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Ohio, Mr. Boyer has a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering with an environmental systems option (five-year professional degree) from The Pennsylvania State University.
Boyer is an American Consulting Engineers Council certified Engineering Expert Witness (EXWsm), Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) per the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM) and Green Building Engineer (GBE) per the Association of Energy Engineers. Additionally, He holds an International Registry Certificate via USCIEP/NCEES & EMF/APEC for international engineering practice.
