BOMA/NY gearing up for October 12 annual conference

With two major building worker labor contracts up for negotiation in 2011, a new Con Edison power charge on the horizon (reactive power) and New York's green building legislation requirements kicking in next year, 2011 promises to be a year of changing business realities. BOMA/NY will help you confront these new challenges through three modules now being developed by our Codes & Regulations/Government Affairs Committee for the BOMA/NY Annual Conference to be held Tuesday, October 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Manhattan Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt New York. Current plans call for speakers from the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations, specialists from Code Green and DOB sustainability executives, representatives from Con Edison and an independent power management company to bring you the latest news on each of these issues and advise on management strategies to comply with regulations or contain costs. In keeping with the tradition begun last year of having a prominent candidate for elected office address the conference as keynoter, New York State attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo has been invited to address the conference. Once again the conference will provide opportunities for members to gain greater product and service visibility through sponsorships and table top exhibitions. Details are being developed now and will be distributed shortly. The conference wraps up with a networking reception from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Manhattan Ballroom foyer. Look for more information on this annual opportunity to arrive on your desks and in your e-mail next month. Please contact Sylvester Giustino at [email protected] if you want more information or would like to be a sponsor.
