New York, NY As BOMA/NY’s officially kicks off its new year on September 1st, members and the real estate community can look forward to “opportunities to boost your career through our knowledge and networking programs,” said BOMA/NY president James Kleeman, RPA.

Highlights of BOMA/NY’s wide-ranging programs are highlighted below:

• Professional designations: the industry’s highly prestigious professional designation coursework is offered through BOMA/NY this fall at its offices at 11 Penn Plaza. Hours are conveniently suited to work schedules, and the full range of courses for the RPA, FMA, LEED GA prep and more will be offered. The Semester starts September 12th.

• More opportunities to learn take place throughout October as industry seniors mentor our newest class of up-and-coming members during the Emerging Leaders tours of three of New York’s most iconic, and Pinnacle award-winning structures.

• Leadership is on the menu at the Annual Conference and Leadership Breakfast October 27th. BOMA/NY is devoting the entire event to the NYC Department of Building’s DOB NOW system and its focus on making interactions with the Department simpler, more transparent and more efficient. It’s a must-attend event as licensed professionals and owners are now required to use the system—the previous means of requesting inspections by phone, in person or using the old on-line request portals, are no longer in use. On the agenda will be how the on-line system will streamline and facilitate greater accuracy in scheduling, improve the ability to track inspections and improve service through standardizing inspector electronic checklists. While panelist details are being worked out, the DOB commissioner has been invited to keynote the conference.

And for the social side of BOMA/NY, members and guests can “Rock the Top of the Rock” on the evening of November 4th at the Annual Dinner Dance. And on December 9th, the highly popular Annual Holiday Luncheon will be back at the Grand Hyatt New York, delivering both association tradition—honoring members for their service and their Civic Betterment Award—and eye-popping entertainment through the work of illusionist Collins Key.

Information on all programs can be found at www.bomany.org.
