BL Cos. named one of the top places to work in the state by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers for 2012
BL Companies was named as one of the best places to work in Connecticut by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers. Based upon employees residing in Fairfield, New Haven, and Litchfield Counties, BL was ranked 14th in the small business category. The award was presented at a reception on September 12, at the Stepping Stones Museum.
The Top Places to Work program was administered by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers, which evaluated survey responses from BL Cos.' employees. Employees were asked for their opinions about company leadership, future goals, benefits and job satisfaction. More specifically, they were asked to weigh company values and ethics, how appreciated they feel, their job as part of something meaningful, and job expectations. The survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. The company has conducted programs with more than 30 major publishing partners, surveying thousands of companies and millions of employees.
The September 12th awards ceremony was attended by 35 companies and organizations from Southern Conn., all of which received recognition for being Top Work Places in the small and mid-sized business categories. BL Cos. was represented at the event by 18 of its employee-owners.
On Sunday, September 16th, Hearst Connecticut Media Group published the complete list of Top Work Places. BL Cos. was named in special sections of the Hearst Media Group publications, which include Connecticut Post, Greenwich Times, the News-Times, and The ADVOCATE.
"We are honored to have been selected for this award of being a Top Work Place in Connecticut," said Carolyn Stanworth, president and CEO of BL Cos. "Particularly as the judges were our own employee-owners. Thank you for making BL one of the top places to work."
