BHNT completes 13,000 s/f (716) Food and Sport in Harborcenter; teamed with Pegula Sports and the Sabres Organization

Buffalo, NY BHNT Architects, PC was behind the magic of Buffalo’s award-winning hotspot - (716) Food and Sport. BHNT worked with Kim Pegula and her team at Pegula Sports and Entertainment, the Sabres Organization and (716) to create a one-of-a-kind sports themed bar and restaurant in Harborcenter, a mixed-use hockey and entertainment facility featuring NHL ice rinks, a hotel, retail space, and a parking structure at Buffalo’s developing Canalside. The restaurant and bar was designed to be a unique destination and representation of the Western New York sports and food culture. (716) features a unique main entrance with illuminated marquee, a VIP Area, a sports broadcast booth, custom banquettes with dedicated surround sound and, at each of the 3 main bars, a custom lit, ice-sculpted glass bar top that emulates hockey rink ice. Other details that accentuate the overall theme of the restaurant include sports oriented interpretive displays and graphics that play upon its “(716)” name. The 13,000 s/f restaurant includes a 38 ft. TV video screen - one of the largest in any bar/restaurant in North America. Accompanying the 38 ft. video screen are 55 other big screen TV’s located throughout the restaurant, including in booths which have built-in speakers and embedded in the mirrors of the bathrooms so you never miss another play.
