Berkoff of Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP named co-chair of International Women's Insolvency Restructuring Confederation'

Leslie Berkoff, a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, has been appointed to serve as co-chair of the International Women's Insolvency Restructuring Confederation's (IWIRC) advisory council. The advisory council's mission is to increase the visibility and connections of IWIRC in the insolvency community. The council will be comprised of industry leaders, nationally and/or internationally, whose names and reputations will strengthen and foster IWIRC's mentoring and networking presence. IWIRC is an international professional association that works to enhance the professional status and reputation of women in insolvency practice. IWIRC provides opportunities for networking, professional development, leadership and mentoring on local and international levels. IWIRC's goals are pursued through a simple but effective principle: to create an organization of international scope that offers leadership and professional advancement opportunities. Berkoff is a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP where she also serves as chair of the firm's Bankruptcy practice group. She concentrates her practice in the area of bankruptcy and restructuring litigation and corporate workouts, and she represents a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditor committees both nationally and locally. Berkoff was Chair of the IWIRC from 2004-2008 and has served on its board of directors for over 15 years. She also served as co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute's (ABI) Healthcare Insolvency Committee from 2008-2011 and is an active member of the Mediation and Healthcare Committees. Berkoff was co-editor of the ABI's Healthcare Bankruptcy Manual, Third Edition. In addition, Berkoff serves on the Mediation Panel for the Eastern and Southern Districts of the United States Bankruptcy Courts in New York and the United States Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, as well as the Commercial Mediation Panel for Nassau County. She also serves on the Board of Editors of Pratt's Journal of Bankruptcy Law. Berkoff earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
