Beldiny of Coldwell Banker Res. participates in Big Brothers-Big Sisters

I have been and remain an active Realtor on Long Island for the past 16 years. Each customer and client has brought me experience and understanding. When as a single mom my only child entered college I knew it was important for me to share the beauty and knowledge of my world with a child less fortunate. I had always heard of the organization Big Brothers-Big Sisters. After researching their 100 year old history I knew it fit my criteria. After extensive background investigation I finally was introduced to my little sister, Kayla. I believe it's a match made in heaven. Kayla is pensive, sensitive and intelligent. Her special way of absorbing all we experience made us both walk thru new doors. Although we are from different cultural and economic worlds, our time together is priceless. Each visit introduces us to a new place - new foods. We try to vary our trips to include nature. This beautiful island has unlimited resources. Kayla's imagination and my curiosity are perfect partners, Each time we're together the knowledge of how Kayla sees no limit to her abilities and opportunities make me so proud. Regardless of any negative environment I know our visits open up her horizons. Truly, giving is receiving. I never realized being spiritually charitable can be so rewarding. Although the intent is not to focus on money it becomes clear to Kayla and me to use education as the ticket to economic stability. With this in mind our hours are spent in Borders reading to one another and discussing a variety of topics keeping us engaged in conversation and exchange of thoughts. My 6th grader has taught me much. I truly believe it only takes 1 person to make a difference. What I know is that our world is that much better because of me being a Big Sister to my little sister. This holiday season find the charitable energy you hold to mentor a child...it's priceless. The evolving relationship of environmental consultants and the lending community - by Chuck Merritt

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
