White Plains, NY According to Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, partner Katrine Beck has been appointed to the board of directors of Girls Inc. Westchester, an organization that provides comprehensive life skills programming to girls all over Westchester, in schools, community centers and its White Plains office. “We are pleased to welcome Katrine to our board and are looking forward to her contributions as Girls Inc. continues to grow and serve girls throughout Westchester County,” said Jennifer Altman, board chair of Girls Inc. Westchester. “This is a particularly exciting time of year for us to have Katrine join the board, as we are busy with our annual appeal campaign and preparing for a major fundraiser on January 21st, ‘Powerful Women in Science, Research and Medicine,’ held at The College of New Rochelle.” Beck will be joining the governance committee, drawing on her years of experience working with governance matters in her practice of law and applying it to the operation of a substantial not-for-profit organization. As a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group, Beck focuses her trial practice on general liability claims, commercial disputes and municipal law matters. She has successfully handled all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, including arbitrations and mediations.  Her clients mainly include individuals, small businesses, corporations, property managers, and condominium/ co-op boards.
