Battery Park City devs. chosen as Green Bldg. Competition winners

The Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority's newly constructed parks maintenance facility and The Visionaire, a new condo designed to become a sustainable residential high-rise development, was named as the grand prize winners of the Green Building Competition for N.Y.C. for their integration of design and sustainability. The Visionaire, located on Battery Park Place and Little West St. in Battery Park City, was developed by The Albanese Organization and designed by Pelli Clark Pelli Architects. Battery Park City's park maintenance facility, which sits in the first floor of The Visionaire, is used as a headquarters for the Battery Park City Park Conservancy. The competition was supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, along with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and PlanNYC.
