Barrett of Admiral Real Estate re-elected president of HGAR

According to Admiral Real Estate Services Corp., John Barrett, its head of investment sales, has been re-elected for his third term as president of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors' (HGAR) Commercial Investment Division. HGAR is the newly-formed entity which now combines members of the Westchester-Putnam, Rockland and Orange County Realtor Associations. In 2011, Barrett joined Admiral to develop the firm's investment sales division. Over the past seven years, Barrett has evaluated and marketed over $200 million worth of investment real estate in the Westchester sub-market, representing institutional clients, private equity groups, partnerships and estates, as well as financial institutions such as Citibank, Key Bank and Greystone Bank in the sale of senior notes, subordinate notes and REO properties. His recent notable transactions include the sale of a 39-unit apartment building at 155 Garth Rd. in Scarsdale, the East Hartsdale Ave. retail portfolio, 116 unsold cooperative shares at 100 Highland Ave. in Yonkers and a residential development site at 25 State St. in Ossining, among others. He is also on the Board of Directors of the HGAR. He is a member of the Building and Realty Institute's Apartment Owners Advisory Council and serves on the loan committee of Community Capital Resources a not-for-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) based in the Westchester. HGAR is a not-for-profit trade association covering over 9,000 real estate professionals doing business in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties. HGAR is comprised of the former Westchester Putnam Association of Realtors (WPAR), Rockland County Board of Realtors (RCBR) and Orange County Association of Realtors (OCAR). All three groups voted to merge into the new HGAR group earlier this year. The name change is pending approval by the National Association of Realtors. Admiral Real Estate Services Corp is a full-service commercial real estate firm, offering leasing, investment sales, property management and advisory services. Based in Westchester, the company currently lists and/or manages over 75 retail, office, residential and development properties in the New York metropolitan area.
