Baker of Certilman Balin honored with leadership in law award

East Meadow, NY Daniel Baker received the 2017 Leadership in Law Award from Long Island Business News on Thursday, November 16th at the Crest Hollow County Club.  Baker is a partner in the real estate and land use practice groups at Certilman Blain Adler & Hyman, LLP where he concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, zoning and land use, and environmental law. For over 25 years Baker has been practicing law, and his knowledge is diverse and solid.

Active with his alma mater and in his community, Baker is a member of the Touro Law Center Alumni Association, a member of the Touro Law Center Dean’s Advisory Council, and an Advisory Board Member to Touro Law Center’s Institute of Land Use and Sustainable Development Law. In 2017, Touro honored him with the Law School Service Award.

He serves as the Tenth Judicial District Representative to the Real Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, as a member of the advisory board of the Chicago Title Insurance Company, and as an appointed member of the State of New York Commission on Quality Care for the Mentally Disabled’s Surrogate Decision Making Committee (SDMC) Program.

Baker served, for 15 years, as a trustee of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Long Island chapter. He also served from 2010-2012 as the co-chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Real Property Law committee.

Admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Baker has achieved the highest professional rating by Martindale Hubbell. He is a member of the American, New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.

He earned his bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College in 1992.
