Aragon Construction to complete 20,000 s/f

Popular mobile application foursquare has appointed New York City's contracting and construction management firm, Aragon Construction, to complete a 20,000 s/f build-out at their new tenth floor office space at 568 Broadway. Aragon is constructing the top two floors of space in partnership with Echo Design + Architecture, led by Manhattan-based architect Ajay Chopra. The tenth floor features the first phase of the build-out, which will eventually encompass the eleventh floor for a total of around 56,000 s/f. "We're thrilled to be able to complete first-rate work in the office of an exciting social media company like foursquare," said Alex Getelman, president of Aragon Construction. "We look forward to completing this fast-track build-out in record time to get the new foursquare offices up and running in this sleek space." The extremely tight time constraints on the project will be resolved by creating and maintaining a strict schedule across all teams in the build-out. "Laying down 4,000 s/f of new hardwood flooring while coordinating with all the different trades can be a challenge," said Michael Trocchia, project manager at Aragon Construction. "This one-month project is a tight fit, but will be held together with a rigorous schedule developed by our organized team." With the short time frame of the build-out, foursquare will make use of many existing elements in the space, including many of the existing offices with glass doors and fronts. Two new offices will be added, as well as a high-tech conference room with a ceiling projector and colorful interior walls.

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
