Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance, Inc. enters into definitive agreement to sell $9b CRE loan portfolio to Athene Holding
New York, NY Fried Frank is advising the special committee of the board of directors of Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance, Inc. (ARI), a publicly traded REIT, in connection with ARI’s definitive agreement to sell its entire $9 billion commercial real estate loan portfolio to Athene Holding. Upon closing of the transaction, ARI will emerge as a well-capitalized REIT with a strong balance sheet with $1.4 billion of net cash and a clear runway to design and execute a refreshed strategy.
The Fried Frank team is led by mergers and acquisitions and private equity partners Steven Epstein and Adam Cohen, and Hannah Reiner.
