Michael Amoroso joined
Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP as an associate in the Real Estate, Land Use and Zoning Practice Groups.
Prior to joining the firm, for six years Amoroso was the bureau chief of the Suffolk County Dept. of Law's Real Estate and Condemnation Bureau.
Under Amoroso's management and supervision the bureau, which consists of five attorneys, provides legal advice to various county departments and prepares formal and informal legal opinions related to real estate matters for county agencies including the County Treasurer, County Clerk, Parks Dept. and the Suffolk County Sewer Agency. The Bureau provides legal support to the Dept. of Environment and Energy, Dept. of Planning, the Division of Real Property Acquisition and Management, and the County Executive's Office on all environmental acquisitions. In addition, the bureau assists the Department of Economic Development and Workforce Housing, the Department of Public Works, and the Division of Real Property Acquisition and Management.
Amoroso brings experience to
Certilman Balin. Before taking the helm as Suffolk County's bureau chief, he practiced law for 20 years in the areas of commercial and residential real estate and general litigation matters including municipal law, personal injury, matrimonial and trusts and estates.
He earned his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law, his bachelor of arts, cum laude, in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, and is admitted to practice in the state of New York and before the Appellate Division, Second Department.
