Alfieri appointed senior commercial underwriter of Westcor Land Title Insurance Company

New York, NY Westcor Land Title Insurance Company revealed the appointment of Michael Alfieri, Esq., as a senior commercial underwriter in the New York City office. At Westcor Alfieri will have senior approval authority over New York commercial and national commercial transactions, coordinate national multi-site transactions and approve high liability transactions for the company’s 1,000 agents across the United States. “He will be a great addition to our team,” said Carmel Caramagna, senior vice president, director of Westcor’s newly opened New York City commercial title insurance division. “Michael brings more than 20 years experience dealing with regulatory compliance, transactions and litigation in the industry.” Prior to joining Westcor, Alfieri served as vice president and senior underwriting counsel for Lincoln Land Services where he provided legal counsel in acquisition, sale, leasing, financing and development of commercial and residential properties throughout the United States. He also served as vice president/senior counsel at Prestige Title Agency and vice president/senior agency counsel at First American Title Insurance Company and counsel for New York Land Services. Alfieri also brings government experience to the private sector having worked as department head of Land Records Division for the Westchester County Clerk’s office in White Plains where he supervised the daily operations of a 32-person division. He also worked as assistant environmental counsel to the New York City Department of Sanitation where he served as executive and special assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Legal Affairs and also to the Director of The Environmental Unit. Before working for large title companies,  Alfieri founded his own law practice and environmental consultant business in 1993 where he represented clients on local and state regulatory and administrative matters, permitting, compliance, audits and assessments and environmental reviews. Alfieri earned a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University and a JD degree from Vermont Law School. He lives in Larchmont in Westchester County.
