2021 Ones to Watch: Richard Maltz, Maltz Auctions

Name: Richard Maltz

Title: CEO

Company Name: Maltz Auctions

Real estate associations or organizations that you are currently a member of: National Association of Bankruptcy, National Auctioneers Association, New York State Association of Realtors, Inc.

What led you to your current profession?
I was raised at my father’s knee, fell in love with cars we auctioned as a teen, and rose through the ranks at Maltz Auctions, learning every role that was necessary within the company, and then further expanded our real estate endeavors. I can’t imagine a better career for myself.

Top three things on your bucket list:
What a terrific question…
1. For someone who has never taken more than one week off at a time, the idea of having the luxury of going away for three consecutive weeks would be incredible (or panic inducing, now that I’m thinking about it…) But seriously, getting to travel throughout Italy, from Lake Como to Sicily for an extended period would be amazing.
2. Chartering a sailboat to ultimately chart my own course and cruise around the Caribbean with my family would be a dream come true.
3. Exercise mixed with adventure would be right up my alley. I’ve read that swimming with manta rays in the Maldives is extremely cool.

“You only have one reputation. It takes a lifetime to build and one poor decision to destroy.”
