What was the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in the past 12 months, and why?

I had the honor to assist The Arc of Rensselaer County to implement a strategic plan for consolidation of their program and administrative services. The assignment included identifying the current countywide locations of day program services, community and family support services, and to identify the ideal central location for the future. A 30,000 s/f buildout in a free-standing building was the result. It was rewarding to help this organization fulfill their mission which impacts the quality of life for thousands of individuals living in Rensselaer County.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women entering commercial real estate?

Find a mentor who will teach you how to become the best, most qualified commercial professional. Be a team player - volunteer to do whatever needs to be done so you can learn the multiple aspects of commercial business. If a deal does not materialize, or you do not get the listing assignment, view this as a learning opportunity. These experiences are the building blocks for future initiatives and will make you better prepared for the next time!
