2026 Women in Construction: Ragin McQuade, Bohler

Ragin McQuade
Assistant Project Manager
Bohler

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? I wish more women knew just how broad, dynamic, and people‑focused this industry really is. Construction isn’t limited to fieldwork or traditional engineering roles — there are opportunities in project management, site development, permitting, design technology, survey, and more! More firms are also shifting and embracing mentorship and inclusion and supporting women with groups like the Women’s Professional Network here at Bohler.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Be bold and trust the value you bring. Early in your career, it’s easy to underestimate your strengths; especially in a male‑dominated field, but your perspective is an asset. You don’t need to have all the answers, you just need curiosity, resilience, and the willingness to learn. The industry is evolving, and there is tremendous opportunity for women who are ready to step forward with confidence.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? Before the week begins, I take a few minutes to outline my top priorities across both work and home to help me stay proactive.
