2026 Women in Construction: Kaitlyn Robinson, The United Group of Companies, Inc.

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community?

I am most excited and proud of all of my work in the senior housing space. Currently, I am working on three active adult projects across the eastern coast of the U.S. and it’s been such a rewarding experience. Accessibility is often seen as a challenge for builders, but I’ve learned that aging-in-place pre-planning is important as it adds depth to our projects. Plus, I’m making changes to positively impact lives for years to come!

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry?

It’s cliché but never give up. To get to this point has already been an uphill battle, and while a little petty, I know spite can be a huge motivator. For every person who said you couldn’t do it or said you didn’t belong you’ve carved your way and shared your unique perspective. You’re still here and thriving. Don’t let anyone take that from you. Find your community to support and build you up (no pun intended).

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity?

I love keeping my hands busy and my mindset constructive, even off the clock, by taking on bite-sized crafts when I get home.
