2026 Women in Construction: Jordan Crouse Morris, Charney Companies, LLC

Jordan Crouse Morris
COO Construction
Charney Companies, LLC

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community?

I’m most excited about my new role at Charney Companies! As COO of Construction, I’m honored to spearhead the development of our in-house construction group. Our goal is to become an efficient, high-quality owner-builder in NYC. Our first project to be built under this model is 175 3rd St. along the Gowanus Canal. At more than 1.2 million s/f and 1k+ apartments, it’s a marquee project for us. Bringing construction in-house will improve cost certainty, accelerate decisions, increase accountability, and deliver greater transparency, efficiency and long-term value for our projects and communities.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry?

My advice is to understand the entire project ecosystem. Ask questions, spend time both in the field and in the office, and learn how decisions affect both execution and project management. Seeing all sides of a project builds credibility, earns respect and strengthens relationships. That broader perspective leads to clearer communication, faster problem-solving and positions women as confident, trusted leaders in the construction industry while building strong networks and making a lasting mark.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week?

Embrace the chaos. My 4.5 & 2 yr old have taught me to not sweat the small stuff, which surprisingly helps me stay focused!
