2026 Women in Construction: Jessica Rondash, Holt Construction

Jessica Rondash
Director of Business Operations
Holt Construction

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I oversee our diversity program regarding trade partner relationships. We support MWBE and local trades across projects which help to expand and strengthen them based on onboarding. We have successfully done this with programs inside JFK Airport Terminal 8 and currently executing such initiatives within the New Terminal One also at JFK Airport. Through virtual informational sessions that cover insurance requirements, contracts, etc., we work with these trades along with our prime trades to help these smaller groups have a chance to work within the airport system and grow their catalog of projects.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? How broad and dynamic the opportunities are as construction is often still perceived as a male-dominated field limited to job sites, but the reality is far more expansive. The industry relies on a wide range of professional skill sets, many of which align perfectly with backgrounds women already have or are actively pursuing. Beyond project management and field operations, construction companies need strong professionals in areas such as IT, marketing, accounting, finance, human resources, legal, and estimating. These roles are just as vital to a project’s success as what happens in the field.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? Taking my goldendoodle, for morning walk while drinking my first cup of coffee is a powerful routine that keeps me motivated.
