2026 Women in Construction: Alixandria Arungah, CM&B

Alixandria Arungah
Project Coordinator
CM&B

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community?

When I tell people I work in construction, there’s usually a pause and a “wow.” My answer often brings to mind heavy lifting and power tools. While many amazing women work in the field, key parts of my company, including sales, finance, and marketing, are led by talented women. There’s ample room for women to take on roles critical to a project’s success and to a company’s success. In and out of the field, women can experience the satisfaction of completing a project while forging a unique leadership path.

What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it?

The rapid improvements in material technology present both a challenge and an opportunity I find compelling. New ways of building, such as 3D cement printing, robotics in construction, and growing client demand for tech‑integrated buildings, force us to ask how we are keeping up and using resources wisely. It is important to consider which changes best support our goals. Being bold in pursuing that knowledge and seeing how it aligns with our values helps us answer those questions with clarity.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity?

Community care and personal time energize me. When I balance others’ needs with my own, it always leads to a strong week.
