2026 Ones to Watch - Industry Leaders: David Brickman, Adam America Real Estate

David Brickman
Chief Executive Officer
Adam America Real Estate

“David is an industry leader with decades of experience in long-term strategy and organizational growth. At Adam America, he is focused on expanding into new markets and diversifying across asset classes, with a particular emphasis on multifamily, student housing, condominium, and build-to-rent projects nationwide.”

What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you?

One challenge I continue to work through is learning to delegate and truly empower the team, rather than getting pulled into the weeds. As a newly appointed CEO of a relatively lean organization, there are constant demands on my attention across multiple projects. I’ve had to become very intentional about where I add value. The team at Adam America has worked together for over a decade. My role is to trust their expertise while enhancing execution through my experience and disciplined processes.

Who has had the greatest impact on your career or leadership journey?

I’ve been shaped by a remarkable group of mentors whose guidance has been instrumental to my growth.

How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?

I lead by example, bringing a strong work ethic and a willingness to engage in the details when needed. While I prioritize empowering my team to make decisions, I believe it’s equally important that they know I’m fully engaged and informed. This allows me to provide timely, thoughtful guidance and recognize their efforts in a meaningful way. Creating that balance helps build trust, reinforces accountability, and fosters a culture where people feel both supported and motivated to perform at a high level.
