What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?

One of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on was leading the pre-construction phase for a prestigious luxury client’s high-end office fit-out. It was the first major project I managed from start to finish, including creating and presenting budgets. This role allowed me to build strong, lasting relationships with both the client and subcontractors, connections that continue to support my growth. Walking through the completed space and knowing I had guided costs and expectations from inception to delivery was an incredibly proud moment.

What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?

Success in construction estimating requires confidence, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn from experience. Confidence is key when presenting budgets and making decisions under pressure. Building trust with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues fosters collaboration. Attention to detail ensures accurate estimates and reduces risk, while learning from past challenges strengthens both technical skills and resilience.
